Vintage 1970’s backgammon and chess set depicting the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire, 1519-21..
Carved chessman portray the great Montezuma II and Aztec warriors defending their land against Cortés and his men. The faux stone playing pieces are an interesting mix of resin and crushed stone crafted from the mold of a hand-carved original. A decorative wood and resin case holds all components. One side is backgammon, the other is chess. The set is complete with all pieces and has good weight to it.
