Vintage Design
A small and attractive American roll top desk made by the ‘Derby’ company based in Boston. Unusual to find one in a natural oak finish and wax polished and in very good condition. When the roll is closed all the side drawers automatically lock. This desk has fielded (bevelled) panels all round, usually a sign of better quality. Can be used off the wall with it’s similarly finished back. Internally it has a well fitted interior and work surface and is very clean and free ink stains.
As many of our roll top desks we have rebacked this one to avoid the usual splits in the roll you see from use over a long time. Also the lock has been serviced and two new keys are present.
