Rare folk art cabinet from Järvsö in Hälsingland, Sweden. The cabinet is made by hand in solid pine around 1790 to 1810 and has the original paint which is in very good condition. Note that there are no clouds painted on the short ends of the cabinet. There are some minor marks and traces of wear after 250 years of use.
This type of stylised clouds on a black base are typical for the village Järvsö, this kind of painting only existed in that area. The cabinet has the original lock and key in functional condition. The cabinet is made in one single piece and has a healthy, solid frame. The depth including the trim around the bottom is 49 cm. Without the trim the lower cabinet is 44 cm deep and the upper 28 cm deep. The width including the pediment is 108 cm, excluding the pediment the frame of the cabinet measures 92 cm wide.
