Painted blanket chest with turned feet. Rectangular lid with applied molding above dovetail jointed case . An absolute delight, this festive jewel made of dense poplar with a butternut till has a wonderful, early grain painted surface. The top is affixed with iron hinges, lifting to reveal a tidy interior. The feet are crisply turned and lend a nice balance to the angular and relatively austere facade.
