Swedish unusual folk art sideboard from Hälsingland in Sweden made during the early 1800s, around 1820 to 1830. The sideboard is painted pine with the original untouched paint. There is some distress and natural patina after use. The paint is a black base with stylised clouds painted in a contrasting light shade as well as some red accents.
The sideboard has a small storage compartment underneath the table top where the lid can be lifted off. Original lock and key, both in working condition. The hardware is also original. There is an old reinforcement in iron by the bottom left corner of the door. The sideboard would likely have had an upper cabinet from the start. Height to the table top is 90 cm.
