A very fine, highly collectable solid oak with over sized brass fittings Military Campaign chest of drawers with mahogany lined & brown leather secretaire desk circa 1880 This is a very fine and rare piece of campaign furniture, you don’t see many oak examples and almost none with the oversized brass trim around the edges. This was clearly made for some military officer of importance. The drawers have a very nice secretaire desk section to the middle in mahogany with a gold leather embossed brown leather writing surface, this again is a sign of pure quality and opulence In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom. One of the small drawer handles inside the secretaire section is missing and the top has various marks from genuine age and honest use. Dimensions: Height:- 93cm Width:- 122.5cm Depth:- 53cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
