A stunning American Federal table in mahogany with neoclassical form in the manner of renown Philadelphia cabinetmaker Anthony Quervelle. Top offers three convex drawers and rests on turned and intricately-carved column over a quatre-form base that terminates in carved lions’ paw feet with casters. Embellishments include raised side panels, gadrooning below bottom drawer and on turned ring of column, with very fine acanthus carvings on column and feet, with carved wings behind lions paws. Philadelphia, circa 1820. Table has a rich, dark patina and has been restored with a French-polish finish in our workshop.
