Contemporary Design
Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hibri launched Bokja 12 years ago, and since then the dynamic duo have built a successful international brand with a celebrity following including the likes of Christian Louboutin, Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, and Julia Roberts, to name but a few.
Part of the Classics collection, the Bean Sofa features a delightfully retro form upholstered in a vintage, bold, and graphic embroidered fabric from Kyrgyzstan, called a suzani. This traditional floral textile is framed with a patchwork of other printed remnants including Russian chintz and tapestry from Aubusson in France plus the signature Bojka assemblage most of which are produced in the brand’s bustling Beirut atelier.
Thrifting, crafting, restoring, reinventing, and upholstering: these are Bokja core values. In a kaleidoscopic studio staffed by women artisans, Bokja turns out exciting, uplifting, joyful designs aimed at an international audience. And along the way, they bolster their local community through sustainable craft practices that shine an auspicious light on Beirut’s creative capital.

Please note that as all of Bokja designs are composed of vintage and new textile remnants, each object is unique; fabric combinations may vary slightly from piece to piece.
