This antique hand-carved frame is unsigned, but originated from Canada and dates to approximately 1880 and done in the period Folk Art style. The frame is composed of solid walnut and features a large sculpted beaver at the top sitting on a branch. The front of the frame is ornately carved with oak leaves and acorns and maple leaves. The dimensions posted refer to the outside of the frame, and the inner dimension measures eighteen inches by eleven and a quarter inches. The frame could be used to hold a photo or painting or used as a wall mirror.
