A lovely antique iron clock dial circa 1830 in its original enamel, charmingly decorated with birds and flowers. To the corners are charmingly painted flowers and summer fruits. With ancient craquelure, rusty patches, marks of a long life and its original handcut iron hands, all as found by our buyer on a local estate.
Originally a large weight driven 30hr movement, this was mostly missing. Our clockmaker has skillfully fitted a quartz battery movement for ease and reliability while retaining the beautiful original hands and brass retaining washer. We have carefully cleaned and clear coated the dial to lock in the ancient patina. Please note that the calendar dial is none-functioning. A hanging loop is provided to the reverse.
A unique timepiece for anywhere in your home. Measures: 11″ x 11″ x 1.5″.
