Beautiful empire mahogany architects table by Jean-Joseph Chapuis (1765-1864). Jean-Joseph Chapuis (born in Brussels) was a famous furniture maker. He obtained a master craftsman title in Paris allowing him to personally mark his work. This table has been fully restored in its original condition. It can be height adjusted in multiple ways. It has a double ratcheted hinged rectangular top above a drawer. The top panel is made out of leather. The square tapering legs have brass feet. Green felt on the inside. Marked at least two times with ‘Chapuis’.
